This made-for-cable-TV erotic thriller is actually based on a true story from turn of the century America, as chronicled in the book Sex and the Criminal Mind. Baby-faced Neil Patrick Harris leaves his Doogie Howser character behind him to play a young man who sets out on a steamy affair with a married woman (Anne Archer), who hides him in the attic away from her soft-headed husband (Len Cariou, who scored a big hit on Broadway as Sweeney Todd). But the deception soon leads to tragedy... All pretty average.
