Skimpily-plotted musical vehicle for Sonny and (a 21-year-old) Cher - their only solo starring film together. There are lots of songs, including It's the Little Things and I Got You, Babe and the stars play up to their TV show images of gullible dolt (him) and waspish cynic. George Sanders looks bored as the shady producer who offers the duo a movie in the genre of their choice - which gives rise to Sonny seeing himself as Western hero, jungle boy and private eye. Enjoyable enough as an early portrait of the pair, but a strange film debut for director William Friedkin, soon to make The French Connection.
