This low budget black comedy - about the sexual shenanigans among the staff of a company producing a trashy TV show called 'The Love Judge' - is actually more rewarding than the more mainstream Soapdish. Most of the staff are gay or, at least, sexually ambivalent, and, as the jockeying starts for the vacant position of executive producer on Love Judge, so the bedroom hopping begins. Alexis Arquette (brother of Rosanna and Patricia) is good as a quirky babyish punk writer, but Illeana Douglas (seen recently as the star of Grace of My Heart) gives him a run for his money in the acting stakes as a 'burnt-out party chick'. The humour is unforced but the funniest sequences are the spoof segments of the Love Judge programme. A small-scale film with a big heart.
