Old Spike Lee's up on his soap box again in this wildly improbable and appallingly sentimental account of 15 black men taking a coach across country to attend the 'million man march' on Washington, for black rights in October 1995.

None of the 15, of course, is your ordinary run-of-the-mill Joe, and each acts as a catalyst to another to bring secrets, hatreds and prejudices tumbling across the gangway of the bus.

'Hollywood thinks it has us all figured out,' says one.

'Rap, rape, rob and riot.'

I doubt it, but if Lee carries on like this, it might turn out that way.

Militancy is the name of the game, issues are over-simplified and actions speak louder than words.

Although it is occasionally a challenging trip, you may still drop off on the road.

Good prefromances, though, all round.
