Interesting and unusual historical thriller about a vigilante called Miles Utley (Tom Berenger) who takes it upon himself to protect Brigham Young (Charlton Heston), the leader of the Mormon Church, who is threatened with assassination. A tip-top cast (including James Coburn, Kevin Tighe and Jeffrey Jones) show their worth in a prestigious Western-set story that's thoughtful and refreshingly unfamiliar to British audiences. If it isn't always as exciting as such a fine idea promises, the actors and story still grip the attention throughout.
