Three Wishes

In 1950s California, Patrick Swayze's mysterious stranger brings hope and magic into the lives of Korean war widow Mary Elizabeth Mastrantiano and her two young sons after they mistake him for a tramp at the roadside. A warm, sentimental family fantasy set in Fifties America, starring Patrick Swayze as a drifter who changes the life of Korean War widow Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and her two sons for ever.

It's predictable, so you'll guess the happy, tearful ending, but the mystical and dramatic elements blend well - and there's a magic dog to amuse the kids.
