Miguel (son of Jose) Ferrer takes full advantage of a rare star role as a Hollywood screenwriter who goes to Mexico to research a crime story and gets mixed up with conspiracy, organ smuggling and murder - plus, of course, a femme fatale (Leilani Sarelle). Then one day, he wakes up, and discovers he's lost a kidney! Director David Marconi's quite creepy and well-cooked if arty conspiracy thriller, that also provides good role for Harvey Fierstein as a wacky producer and Henry Silva as the detective, should satisfy fans of serious-minded conspiracy thrillers. Pity about the attempt to blur fiction and reality, which only harms rather than adds to the movie.
