This lurid serial-killer thriller is a nailbiter but it's a very nasty kettle of fish. Sigourney Weaver stars as a criminal psychologist, who was once viciously attacked by a madman herself and is now afraid to venture out of her flat. But, as there's a new killer William McNamara on the loose, cops Holly Hunter and Dermot Mulroney seek out Weaver's help, which draws her to the killer's attention. Weaver grabs our sympathies, Hunter gives a busy performance, Harry Connick Jr has a chilling supporting role and Will Patton, as her cop ex-lover, gives the film's best performance.
