Michael Ironside moves away from his usual cold-eyed villain or ultra-tough cop in this heartwarming and sometime amusing drama. Okay, his character here is a convict, but he's put on a special reform programme. He's chained to the wheelchair of cerebral palsy victim Brad Dourif whom he must then look after. As you might imagine, they start off hating each other but become friends. Admittedly this premise is fairly predictable, but thanks to fine acting from the two leads and a strong script (co-written by Ironside) this is an enjoyable and involving film.
