A leathery Jon Voight gives his customary accomplished performance in this cable TV film which casts the Oscar-winning star as a veteran rodeo rider sent to prison on a homicide rap. Once there, Voight finds his services still in demand on the Montana prison rodeo circuit - and there's a greenhorn prisoner waiting to make his name at the same game. Melodrama is given its head rather more than the steers roped by the convict cowboys in the film's familiar buddy-buddy structure, but the performances give it just enough to keep you on line for the outcome.
