Bank robbers trapped at the scene of the crime by a police seige. It's a familiar film situation. But this black comedy-thriller (elements that blend uneasily here) gives the old story thread a novel twist. Fresh out of jail to marry his long-suffering girl-friend, Jesse (Like Wilson) has four best men (Dean Cain, Patrick Flannery, Andy Dick and Mitchell Whitfield) all in tuxedos waiting. But here's a problem. Flannery, alienated from his dad the sherrif (Fred Ward), is the quote-spouting bank robber known as Hamlet. On the way to the church, he decides to collect an unorthodox wedding present... When he's joined in the bank by the others, former Green Beret Cain happens to have an arsenal of weapons on him. With a charismatic cast and an emotive ending, this should have been a surefire hit. But the director 's pacing is only rarely on the mark. And, though, the boys all 'find' themselves in different ways, Tamra Davis' unsure handling of the actors and situations doesn't convince us that it wouldn't just have been better for them to give up.
