Oh dear. Not content with trying to repeat history by making Psychos two and three, this daft tv movie spinoff was suppoed to herald the start of a series based around the motel from hell. In this loopy offering, Norman Bates is gone and he's left the old family business to his old padded cell mate Alex (Bud Cort). Of course there's bound to be murder and mayhem but little of it makes sense and it's so mediocre you won't care much anyway. Alfred Hitchcock is either spinning in his grave (maybe he should come back and haunt the underachievers who made this) or he's up there somewhere having a damn good laugh.
