Growing up in Glasgow in the late Sixties, two brothers from a single-parent family are both talented artists. The third, less literate, runs with the slum gangs. But all three are drawn into a world of teen warfare that can only end in death. Mild compared with Trainspotting and none too riveting, this is presumably director Gillies MacKinnon's account of his own childhood. Well performed and shot, it fails to grip the attention over a near two-hour period, seeming as dated as the time in which it's set.
