Herbie lives - or does he? Yes, just as the Germans have brought out an updated Volkswagen car, the boys at Disney have decided that Herbie, the lovable VW from the Sixties and Seventies films, should be revived for another ride. Herbie is saved from the scrapyard by former racing driver Hank (Bruce Campbell), but there are others whose intentions are distinctly malevolent. It's a pleasant enough sequel to the Disney originals, based on the usual good versus evil battle, with some neat nostalgic turns: from Dean Jones, star of the first film, Ex-Monkee Micky Dolenz as a slimy racing executive, and Clarence Williams III as a garage proprietor. And the 'evil' camp is well led by John Hannah's dislikeable Scotsman.
