Perhaps a little violent for very young children, this is an amiable revival of the 1960s television series, with a 1990s ecological angle. Elijah Wood plays a surly teenager who visits his seadog uncle (Paul Hogan), makes friends with an orphaned dolphin and discovers that bad guys are polluting the seas. It's a formula story, but Hogan is good as the ex-hippie uncle and the underwater photography is impressive. No comic villains in this one, either: the main baddie is as unpleasant and menacing as in any adult thriller - and he may scare the tinies a bit too. Otherwise, great for five to 11-year-olds, if a bit of a slog for their parents.
