You know you're in reasonably safe hands with Damon Wayans, Daniel Stern and Dan Aykroyd heading the expert comic cast in this, on the whole, amusing American sporting satire. Stern and Aykroyd play obsessive supporters of the Boston Celtics basketball team, who drunkenly kidnap the star player (Wayans) of a rival Utah team to help their side win the US National Basketball Association championships. The neatly-set-up film's main trouble is that, after a jolly start, it runs out of steam around the mid-way mark and becomes a bit of a boring loser. Still, there's lots of sweaty basketball atmosphere and bright performing to keep you distracted throughout.
