A neat sci-fi thriller on the 'We are not alone' theme. Charlie Sheen is unusually cast as a nerdy-looking scientist, who picks up a signal which he is convinced comes from outer space.

Despite obstruction from his skeptical boss (Silver), Sheen discovers that not only is he right, but that the signal is being returned by aliens already living on Earth...

A tense drama develops, well paced in spite of its length, with some good (and some pretty cheesy) special effects, as Sheen finds himself drawn deep into the Mexican jungle to get to the root of a plot that involves colonisation and global warming.

Ron Silver is effective in the bad guy role in which he found himself typecast during the Nineties, while Lindsay Crouse is also on board as a climatologist who believes Sheen when no one else does.
