Unpopular at school and at odds with her materialistic parents, Harriet (Michelle Trachtenberg) turns to her Nan, Ole Golly (Rosie O'Donnell) for friendship.
Nan suggests that she should keep a diary, as it would be good practice for her writing skills, but she ends up recording her observations about the people around her and this lands her in trouble when her schoolmates find her critical writings and read them. Now Harriet is in real trouble.
Sweet-natured, with some delightful moments of comic morality, this tale rises above the average family fare.
