The always engaging Whoopi Goldberg has a ball as a limo driver and a New York basketball team's number one fan given a chance to score as its honorary coach in this -- for the most part -- enjoyable little sporting comedy. The script misses the net too often and could do with a few re-writes, and perhaps a couple of gag writers to polish it up, but if you loved Sister Act , you'll like this. Whoopi makes an amusing sparring-partner team with Frank Langella, as the team's ruthless Texan owner, Wild Bill. If you're wondering about the title, it's short for Edwina, Whoopi's character.
