Penny-plain, luridly coloured crime thriller about a Harlem drugs dealer who wants to go straight when he falls for an actress, but is stopped by his fellow criminal brother. The familiarly-themed, violent film is made without much in the way of flair, surprises, pace or conviction. Even Wesley Snipes doesn't seem fired up as the brother who wants to change, and Michael Wright seems all wrong as Mr Bad. This Sugar Hill ain't too sweet. CSI Miami fans, though, will spot Khandi Alexander, the show's medic, here cast as Ella.
