With Hollywood's Mr Weird Johnny Depp, Las Vegas's Mr Funny Jerry Lewis and movieland's grande dame Faye Dunaway as its stars, this could hardly be anything but an offbeat comedy. The wild-dreaming Johnny goes to his uncle Jerry's wedding in Arizona, and meets mad mommy Faye and her step-daughter Lili Taylor, who inspire him to invent a flying machine. Yugoslavian world cinema heavyweight film-maker Emir Kusturica directs a piece of outmoded flim-flam as though it were Citizen Kane, and the result is a bewildering bore spun out to mind-numbing length. Though the star trio are commendable troupers, and the movie looks a treat, Arizona Dream is a bit of a nightmare. A hit? Dream on!
