Evan Rachel Wood
Born: 7 September 1987
Where: Raleigh, North Carolina
The actress made her big screen debut aged just nine in the witchcraft fantasy drama Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
However, it was in Thirteen, playing a profoundly troubled teen opposite Holly Hunter, that she really made her mark.
As child actor she performed at Raleigh's Theatre in the Park (her father is founder) and went on to lose out to Kirsten Dunst for the lead in Interview With A Vampire.
In 1996, after her parents divorce, Evan moved to Los Angeles, with her mother, and older brother Ira and has constantly been working in television and films.
After her debut in Practical Magic, she appeared in the forgettable Detour and as an aspiring concert violinist in the family drama Little Secrets.
Her profile was raised when she played Al Pacino's daughter in Andrew Niccol's sci-fi comedy-drama S1m0ne.
As well as Thirteen, she can also be seen in the Western The Missing, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett.
