Recommended only to laddish 20-year-olds of either sex, this is a British take on the sixth-form sex scene, mixed into a potty science-fantasy with erotic overtones. Justine (Laura Fraser) is anxious to lose her virginity at 17 but equally keen to do it with the right bloke. Entering an arcade machine, she creates Jake (Rupert Penry-Jones), the man of her dreams, then sees him come to life when a nearby gas explosion produces 'reality interface transference'. Jake's joy is tempered by the knowledge that he's only an extension of his creator who, unaware of his origin, falls for him like a ton of bricks. Heavily modish hi-jinks ensue, with lots of captions, full-frontal fellas and in-your-face discussions of sex. The most inventive sequence involves a magic carpet ride; otherwise this is one to be watched with (and after) six-packs, breezers and buckets of popcorn.
