Bad brother, good brother. Rick Schroder plays paroled teenager Billy Maloney, who returns to the bosom of his trailer-park family - self-righteous brother Joe (Brad Pitt in his first cinema starring role) and their widowed Mom (Carrie Snodgress). As the title suggests, Joe has a passion for running on the track and a further desire for running into collision with Billy. Well-written dramas of sibling rivalries crossed with sports stories are rare enough to put this in the 'interesting' category, and all three stars show they're more than just pretty faces. Ideal for older teens, athough there's a lot of swearing.
