A mild but still entertaining remake of the old 1969 Jack Lemmon-Sandy Dennis comedy from the pen of Neil (Odd Couple) Simon. This time Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn play the mid-life married couple who decide to relocate from Iowa to New York and anything that can go wrong does go wrong. The energetic stars spark the show up into an enjoyable, lightweight slapstick entertainment and John Cleese is funny as the snooty hotel manager. A box-office flop: it cost $40million and took only $28million in the US.
