No laughs - only yawns I must confess to watching the whole of this hugely tedious movie thinking it was set somewhere in Africa. Not so. It apparently takes place in the heart of a large Nigerian community in the south of France. Nice of them to tell us. Not nice, though, to inflict on us this stickily acted romantic drama in which comic book author Colin Firth falls for widowed landscape gardener Nia Long but has as much trouble prising her away from the amorous local vicar as he does extricating himself from an 'open' marriage of convenience to bitchy Caroline Goodall. Some colourful background stuff - but it isn't enough to hold the attention.
