Singing Actually
Making and not making music with Martine and Bill...It could be good news for those not keen on the warbling tones of Martine McCutcheon, because the former EastEnders' actress has decided to leave her singing career behind - for now anyway.
At the after-show party of her latest film with Hugh Grant, Love Actually, everyone's favourite cockney declared:
"I'm giving up music.
Bill Nighy
Hugh Grant
Love Actually
Premiere, Actually
Hugh's Grown Up, Actually
One Sided Love, Actually
Love Actually - Another View
Cryptic, but presumably the long and short of it all is that Martine will just be concentrating on her acting career for now.
Also slightly less enthusiastic about the world of harmonies and rhythms is her Love Actually co-star Bill Nighy.
The British actor is not keen on the idea that his cover of Love Is All Around might make it to the Christmas number one spot, meaning an appearance on Top Of The Pops for the 54-year-old actor.
He recorded the song for the Richard Curtis film but in the spirit of being a good sport said:
"It fills me with dread, but the song is for Comic Relief, which is a good cause, so it will be worth it."
