Clooney, Wahlberg and crew are a group of ordinary men battling against extraordinary forces of nature - much more powerful than they are.

Their collision with the storm helps them to achieve a deeper understanding of their place in creation.

The film takes a while to get going. A large amount of time is spent introducing the audience to the characters, and there's a chance that boredom might set in. But then you will wake up.

The special effects which create the storm are incredible. The climax of the story is so gripping that you can feel the fishermen's seasickness and fear amidst the wild turbulence.

The characters are rather empty and shallow, but their presence in the movie is secondary to the most awesome storm scenes ever seen on the big screen.
