Richard E Grant stars in this attempted romantic comedy about a man who wants to return to his student day glory and stage a production of Twelfth Night. The am-dram idea has been done before (A Chorus of Disapproval and An Awfully Big Adventure) and, alas, done much better. The dreadful script and slow pacing conspire to hamstring a good cast - Grant, Nathalie Baye, Joe McGann and Juliet Aubrey. The blame must fall squarely on the shoulders of Stephen Poliakoff, who wrote and directed. A very amateur piece of dramatics.
