It seems that UK cinema is in danger of returning to its threadbare standards of 50 years ago, with more low-cost turkeys on its shelves than Tesco at Christmas. It would be easy to describe this one as a new low, but competition in recent times has been pretty fierce. Both Hal (James Purefoy) and Vinny (Susan Vidler) want to call their wedding off, but neither has the guts. So they employ friends to try to bring about the desired altar-ation. The rest of the film is almost entirely composed of conversations in a club bar and couplings in the club loo. TV star Amanda Redman may be especially anxious to excise her performance as a nympho barmaid from her CV, but at least she and the other performers are enthusiastic in the face of tedium and adversity. Crass.
