The moral of this story is: always take your medication - though we might not have a film here if the characters didn't ignore the advice. Ray (Daniel Craig), released from psychiatric hospital in the care of his diner-owning brother Pete (David Morrissey), meets and bonds with pregnant Laura (Kelly Macdonald), but regresses without his medication. Alas, motivations here are hardly clear: Ray puts some crushed pills in a pizza as a protest. Pete's response is to sack him and throw the rest of his pills away - pretty irresponsible, you might think. And Mandy the waitress (Julie Graham) suddenly becomes interested in Peter - though it's hard to see why. Good performances, but the film is irritating and only so-so.
