In a sci-fi thriller that collapses towards the end, Craig Bierko stars as Douglas Hall. Working in computer science in 1999, Hall enters a virtual reality Los Angeles in 1937 through his firm's revolutionary computer program - in order to track down a murderer, taking his mind into the body of his lookalike, John Ferguson. Then his boss's alleged daughter (Gretchen Mol) suddenly makes an appearance. Meanwhile, to the cop on the case (24's Dennis Haysbert), it looks as though Hall himself committed the crime, though the latter can't remember anything about it. Very complicated: various trips into the past are called for to prevent more deaths, but then Hall begins to question his own reality. Interesting at first and like the slightly similar The Matrix, tense, but implausibilities spoil things by the end.
