This comedy romance about a thirtysomething's obsessive jealousy tries to be quirky and charming but doesn't quite make the grade. Eric Stoltz, not normally associated with comedy, gives the central role a good stab but is somewhat let down by a script that thinks it's sharper than it is. Even so, there are some amusing diversions, from Annabella Sciorra as the object of his jealous affections to an amusing cameo from Bridget Fonda. Writer/director Noah Baumbach has created something here that is only amusing in patches.
