Memento is the story of Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce), a man unable to construct new memories as a result of a severe head injury, following a violent attack on his wife.
Opening with a brutal murder, the film is literally told backwards through a series of fragmented flashbacks, similar to Lenny's own disjointed recollections.
With no short-term memory, and an obsession with finding his wife's killer, Lenny's only means of accumulating evidence is by tattooing the facts onto his body - but will they lead him to the truth?
Guy Pearce's outstanding portrayal of the haunted Lenny, coupled with the innovative and brilliant script, ensure Nolan's stylish thriller both stimulates and enthrals.
