In this sleepy but sweet drama set in North Carolina at the time of World War Two, Ruby (Joanne Whalley) is waiting for her husband to return from the conflict. Meanwhile, she and her daughter, Pug (Alexa Vega), befriend a drifter, Tom (Sean Patrick Flanery), who is disliked by the locals. Moving in parts, with likeable performances.
