A cheaply animated version of the seafaring adventures of Astrid Lundgren's mystifyingly popular pigtailed Pollyanna. Even Pippiphiles may be handing in their fan club cards here, after the little horror comes out with such lines as 'Life is just a piece of cake and I'm its little sweetie.' Yuk! This tale does admittedly have some bouncy tunes to alleviate your annoyance at its central character, but the welding of animation and dialogue is scarcely up to the standards of even half-way decent movies.
