This 'inhospitable planet' offering is a big-budget but zero-tension affair. Captain Carrie-Anne Moss leads the first manned space ship to Mars, but it crashes on the planet, leaving Val Kilmer and crew not only stranded but the target of their just-gone-demented robot. The actors look like actors in space suits scrabbling around on an orange-filtered set, and as the underdeveloped story unfolds, you simply can't imagine that the survival of mankind rests on them.
