This TV movie treads the deeply-worn path first forged by Kramer Vs Kramer. Yes, it's the old tug-of-love custody battle plot. It's given a slight twist by the fact that Mom (Lorraine Bracco) is the breadwinner, while Dad (Martin Donovan) is the one who stayed at home to raise the kids, but that's not really enough to lift the story much above the usual. What does help is the strong cast dominated by Bracco and Donovan and decent direction by David Hugh Jones. Even so, the story's pacing is uneven, thanks largely to the rather manipulative script. A watchable, undemanding time-passer, but no more.
