Oh, no, another film about being buried alive! This contrived, twisted psychological thriller sorely needs the oxygen of reality to make it work. Admittedly, it looks good and it's very well acted, but it's extremely nasty and, despite the exciting start and bizarre plot developments, eventually becomes tedious. Maura Tierney (Abby in ER) plays a masochistic cop pursuing kidnapper 'Harry' (The Pianist's Adrien Brody), who's abducted rich Laila Robins and has buried her at gunpoint in a coffin in a secret New York location. He gives her rich husband James Naughton 24 hours to pay a $1million ransom. The skewered plot also involves a lot of psycho-babble and intervention by FBI agent Dylan Baker. Edgy and dark, yes, but no fun and not for the easily shocked.
