Caine Cast In Batman

Michael Caine is all set to sign up to play the role of Batman's famous butler, Alfred.

The cockney Oscar winner is likely to sign up to the all new production, to be directed by Memento's Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale as the caped crusader.

Batman 5 is expected to be released in 2005 and is currently in pre-production, with the script being kept tightly under wraps.

The previous Batman installments have all been massive box office successes despite the critical savaging they received.

Though the original Tim Burton incarnation was both a hit and well acclaimed, the Joel Schumacher entries were regarded as rubbish, with the final George Clooney installment being the worst offender.

Caine in the meantime is also expected to star in the sequel to Miss Congeniality alongside Sandra Bullock.

Bullock has already committed to a sequel and is also down to produce the comedy.
