Angela Bassett puts in a strong performance as Lena in this film based on the 1974 film version of Athol Fugard's searing play, set in apartheid South Africa. Lena flees her bulldozed shanty town with her partner Boesman (Danny Glover). The couple bicker constantly - until a chance encounter with a tribesman (Willie Jonah) changes their perspective. But monotonous dialogue makes this largely uninvolving.
