Billy Boyd

The Scottish actor is best known for the part of the Hobbit Peregrin "Pippin" Took in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.
A graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, early TV appearances included Jamie Holmes in Taggart.
Subsequent (minor) film roles included The Soldiers Leap, Urban Ghost Story and the woeful Julie and the Cadillacs before the call came from Jackson.
After shooting three films in the Rings trilogy, Boyd starred alongside Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany in Master and Commander.
