The former Coronation Street star is enjoying success across the Atlantic in high profile movies including Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down.
A member of the National Youth Theatre, Marsden earned his degree in performing arts at Middlesex University before landing roles in TV soap Emmerdale.
As Chris Collins in the long-running soap Coronation Street, he was awarded the top newcomer award at the National Television Awards in 1997.
The same year he made his big screen debut in the French comedy Les Soeurs Soleil and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career.
Next up was Shiner with Michael Caine followed by helicopter gunship drama Black Hawk Down.
He played Paris in the American TV version of Helen of Troy and duplicitous Dr Jack Byron in the thriller Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid.
