A true-life horror story to make your flesh creep. Although perhaps not too cinematic and a bit 'talking heads', this innovative TV movie is a classy, well-written and solidly-acted account of a day in January 1942, when top Nazis - including Reinhard Heydrich and Adolf Eichmann - gathered at the Wannsee Conference just outside Berlin to discuss the 'Final Solution' - the extermination of all European Jews. Loring Mandel's hard-hitting screenplay almost veers into jet-black comedy at times, but never strikes a false note. He won an Emmy for his work, as did Kenneth Branagh - voted best actor in a TV movie or mini-series for his portrayal of security chief Heydrich - 'Hitler's hangman'.
