Pierce Brosnan is just plain wrong as Robinson Crusoe in this unsatisfying, unfaithful version of Daniel Defoe's novel that will probably annoy purist fans of the book as well as those seeking adventure entertainment. It's not so much Brosnan's fault as the script's. He tries hard and keeps his dignity, even when William Takaku's Man Friday, Ian Hart's Defoe and the preposterous storyline don't.
