Helen Hunt gamely takes the central role of real-life teenager Tami Maida, who caused a few raised eyebrows back in 1981 by playing grid-iron football in an Oregon college boys' team. Don Murray (still remembered as the lovesick cowpoke in Bus Stop) and Barbara Babcock (Grace Gardner in Hill Street Blues) provide a touch of acting class as Tami's parents.
