A movie specifically designed for its star, Goldie Hawn, this comedy plays to all her strong points - daffiness, endearing vulnerability and resilience under pressure. She plays a cocktail waitress pitched into the public eye when foiling an assassination attempt on an eastern ruler, and winning the hearts of millions on TV with her slightly scatterbrained frankness. Sadly for Goldie fans, the funny biting wit drifts out of the film in favour of patriotic sentiment but there are lots of laughs along the way.
