Throaty-voiced Brenda Vaccaro (an Oscar nominee for her role in 'Once is Not Enough') upstages McCloud's regular girlfriend (played by Diana Muldaur) with her role as a pert policewoman in this story of a ring of car-thieves. The telefilm provided a nostalgic return to Universal Studios for director Jack Arnold, who made a whole string of highly commercial 'creature features' there in the Fifties, including 'Creature from the Black Lagoon', 'It Came from Outer Space', 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' and 'Tarantula'!
