An earnest study of the aftermath of a shocking true incident that took place in Laramie, Wyoming, in November 1998, when a gay student was beaten to death. We Brits may not remember the headlines, but it's still a fascinating semi-documentary on what makes a hate crime, as a New York theatre group descends on Laramie to collect interviews with the residents. Some of the interviewees are played by stars including Christina Ricci, Steve Buscemi and Peter Fonda.
