With its attractive young cast and emotive themes, this could have been a great Western. But the plotting and pace drag it into average territory. James Van Der Beek and Ashton Kutcher are new recruits into the tough band of Rangers trying to clean up after the American Civil War. Dying captain Dylan McDermott is the only really interesting character, despite decent support from Rachael Leigh Cook, Alfred Molina, Robert Patrick and Usher Raymond.
